Let there be white

The track to the plot today
As it hadn't rained for a good few days, we were all geared up to do a bit of digging on the plot this weekend, hoping that the soil might have become just a bit less waterlogged. However that plan was scuppered as we woke up on Saturday to find a good few inches of snow had fallen during the night; I don't remember hearing that being advertised. We took a walk down today to have a look and take waste food to add to the compost.

Garlic fights it's way through the snow
Cat? Fox? Bear? Who knows

The blueberry bushes are looking healthy, a few of the rusty-coloured leaves having unfurled themselves into life since I was last down, which looked pretty against the white backdrop.

Not much else to report really. Spuds are happily chitting at home, we just need winter to relinquish it's grip and then we can get cracking.

  1. That's about how it is around here in Chicago. Today the snow is melting, though.

    1. I've a feeling that the downy coat of snow we have to deal with round here would pale into insignificance compared to what you guys have over there!

  2. I hope we have seen the last of this...not according to the weekend forecast though. :-(

    1. Ugh, I know, it's not looking great is it!
